October, Halloween, Snowstorms, Typical

I decided to put out some Halloween decorations last weekend. I took pictures of them and thought you would like to see them. My blog title picture is of a Pumpkin I made back in 1983. He's cute.

This is an arrangement at the front door.

These are the goblins that greet my visitors at the front of the fence. Today I pulled out all of my frozen Zinnias and sunflowers. It was a pretty nice afternoon so I got a lot of yard work done today. However, I still don't have the vegetable garden cleaned up.
This is my old, old ghost that I made back in the 80'. This ghost may be older than Morgan. It wouldn't be Halloween at our house without him.
This is the witch that Roni gave us many years ago when Zack was really young. He used to cry when we turned her on, because she has spooky eyes that glow and she makes an scarey sound that used to upset him.
I love pumpkins and love to have them around from September to Thanksgiving.

I made this cute wreath a long time ago. The ghosts are made from orange and black suckers and then they you wrap them with white fabric.

I still want to get some corn stalks out of the garden and onto the front lawn somewhere.

My frog prince crowned with a pumpkin.

I usually hang this skeleton inside at the door, but he wanted to be outside this year.

Our Jack-O-Lanterns. When I bought them Morgan liked the happy face and I liked the frowney face, so we bought both of them.

Our oh so scarey skeleton. He says. "Boo! Did I scare you?

Fearless hunters of sharp-tail grouse. They shot a couple and cut out the breasts and put them in a bag in the fridge. So yesterday I thought I better cook them up. I was a little skeptical of how they would taste, but you know what? They were pretty good. They tasted like steak and were much more tender.
Hernon has worked for us for the last three years. He's a pretty good kid, and they thought they would give him a taste of shooting a shotgun. i guess he liked it.

On Saturday we had a crazy snowstorm. The flakes coming down were huge. Zack came running in to tell me and I got great pics of the snow storm.

It was so cold up here last week. Everything was frozen. We got down to 17 degrees and there was snow and ice everywhere. Hope your days have been a little warmer.
I just finished watching the last presidential debate. I thought McCain wasmuch stronger this time, and I liked that he got after Obama. I cannot handle the thought of Obama as a President. I fear that there will be more taxes, bureaucracy, programs, etc. I don't want to have government health care for everyone. I don't want my taxes to go up and I feel sure they will. I question everything about Obama from his friends to his stance on Iraq. I feel that we are between a rock and a hard place. What can we do? Vote, Vote, Vote!!!

Cute Halloween decorations! We've been cooling off here too, but with rain instead of snow. And we haven't dipped to 17 degrees either - more around the 50's and low 60's. Craig and I watched the debate last night too and I have to agree. Obama makes me crazy and I hate to think of him as our next president. Hopefully McCain can pull through!

Marvelous Halloween decorations. I was surprised by what looked like a bad snow storm. I hope it all melted away the next day. I made a couple of those starchy ghosts, but mine are much smaller and they have disappeared somewhere. I wish that you would get some trick or treaters to enjoy your fun decorations. But I think that it is great that you do it for you and Alan and Zack.

Your decorations are really cute! I remember your ghost wreath and the other ghost that may be older than Morgan. I still need to put ours up--maybe this weekend if I have a little free time. :) We got lots of snow Saturday and Sunday as well. I was so upset because we didn't have much for fall weather, but it's warmed up again. :-) I agree with you about Obama--I definately don't want him as president!!! He just gives me the creeps on top of everything else.
