I'm just posting pictures from our Thanksgiving weekend. I got pictures of everyone. I have lots and lots of great pics, but only these made it on the blog. Enjoy them!

We Are the Threeeeee Amigoooos! HUH!

Tuesday evening was the YM and YW lip sync contest. The bishopric was invited to compete and they decided to do ALL three songs from The Three Amigos. The pictures below are of the bishopric in their costumes (they got the award for the tightest pants) practicing in the RS room at the stake center and of the performace during the show. I wasn't able to take pictures during "My Little Buttercup," because I was off the stage in front of them showing them the dance steps we had made up the night before. So enjoy!

Here is Zack's Duty to God Award. I finally remembered to take pictures of it.

This is the other side - the engraving is of Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery receiving the Aaronic Priesthood from John the Baptist.

It is such a nice beautiful medallion. And may I just say how proud I am of Zack doing this. It took him six years and a few months to do it all. Every year was progressively harder, and so I wondered if he was going to make it through.

Wednesday at 12:00 a.m. he also registered for all his college classes. He is taking Basic writing, Micro Applications, Networking, Book of Mormon, Guitar Group Lessons, and Snowboarding. There might be one othere class but I don't remember. I remember when my tuition was about $300 per quarter. Let's just say his is tuition is about six times that. Thank goodness for scholarships!

My Eights List

I wanted to post something today so I'm doing this. I still need to post a picture of Zack and his award. Hopefully soon - need to take pics.

Eight things I did yesterday.
I may not have even done eight things yesterday - I can't remember very well.
1. Cleaned out my crafts cupboards in the laundryroom - because I opened one of them and
stuff started falling out on me.
2. Made Zachary work outside - as good as me doing it.
3. Looked on the internet for some more of mom's family (family history work) and found a really good website.
4. Laundry.
5. Worked on Miranda's shower present.
6. Went to Quantum of Solace with Alan and Zack.

7. Ate at Winger's
8. Ate some caramel sauce - won't do that again - resulting in heartburn at 1:00a.m.

8. I'm already looking forward to spring for a number of reasons.


Eight Things on My Wish List:
1. A good amount of snow this winter.
2. An end to blaming the mormons for Prop 8 and polygamy.
3. That Zack will do extremely well at college.
4. That Morgan will not be sick anymore.
5. Primary teachers that come and are prepared every Sunday.
6. That I didn't love chocolate.
7. That Alan and I will not feel so sad when Zack moves out.
8. That Alan and I could have a house where plumbing, electrical, and insulation are realiable.

Just in case you were wondering . . .

We're OK. Some of you may have thought either Alan or Iwould stroke out last night upon hearing the election results, but no, we're fine. We had become resigned last week to the idea that it wan't going to be our year, and now we are resolved to make the best of what is to come. I was cheered and reassured that California passed their proposition 8. I am happy that they worked together and overcame what was clearly a big step down a steep and slippery path. Good for them, they are examples to the rest of the nation. And they did it in a state that is home to the infamous city San Francisco. I have always voted a straight republican ticket, and I was always proud to do it in the past, but yesterday, it bothered me because I felt that true conservatism was not at the top of the tivcket this time. I hope and pray that my chosen political party will get back on the path to conservatisim; morally, socially, and fiscally. And I believe that if I have to leave the republican party in order to vote for conservatives that have my same beliefs, I can do it. So I will wait, along with you, for the end of our current President's term and hope that Obama will be a good president and be able to build and bring our economy back to health and that together with all the other democrats who were voted in last night they will make decisions that will prosper and benefit all of us. I pray that our Father in Heaven will have mercy on us as we struggle with the deep and dividing differences within our society, which we are not strong enough to overcome. I pray that our leaders will be prompted to listen to reason and be influenced by their belief in a God and his righteousness. I pray that we will find peace with other countries of the world as we head into 2009 and be an example of strength, courage, goodness and generosity that we have been in the past.

Just some of my thoughts and feelings a day later.
