The Olympics and First Impressions

Well, lately we have been watching the Olympics and I have been in SLC. Miranda is bringing her fiance to SLC this weekend, so I think we should try to make a really good impression. Before I left Ashton I took this picture of Zack early one morning. I love it.
Alan says Zack is an excellent pipe mover. Too bad it isn't an Olympic sport, he could get a medal.

Here is the jam that I made from our raspberries on the farm. I was able to make much more than I had anticipated. I should have brought some down, to family, but I didn't. I will try to send some down later.

This picture is titled "All done." These are all of the dishes that I used to make the raspberry jam last week.

On Tuesday, we went with Stacy and her kids and Gabes to Thanksgiving Point to see the gardens. Amazing. You have to be in good physical shape because there is much walking.

Jonas and Gabes testing the water temperature of the small pool in the secret garden. Maren taking a stroll off of the beaten path to get just a little extra exercise.

Morgan doing some weight lifting.

Leah working on making herself cuter, though hardly possible.

Hannah taking a small break after hiking the long trail to Mordor, I mean, the top of the hill to see the breathtaking view.
The kids after waiting in line for several minutes to see the top of the lighthouse behind them. It was quite the wait, hot, sweaty, and very crowded.

Esme yawning after riding in the stroller for most of the day.

Morgan and Maren enjoying the shade before entering the secret garden.

The kids before they raced up the stairs to the top of this enormous fountain.

Esme getting tired just watching the kids run around in the heat.

Gabriel on the bridge posing by himself.

The kids after their day of exercise.

Today we were very industrious and decided to make apricot jam from all of the apricots that Lizzy sent up with Leslie. We made six recipes. Very impressive and really yummy, with only half the sugar since most of us are trying to eat more healthily (is that a word?) If I were giving out medals for Apricot jam, these would be inthe hunt for a medal.

After the jam it was time to clean up. Don't want Sara (or Brooks) to see a dirty floor!
Leah practiced her new trick, climbing the stairs. What a show-off! Look at that form. This also should be an Olympic sport.
Sara was worried about the appearance of her bathrooms because of her visitors. They look good to me. Sara should at least be in medal contention for this bathroom.
This is sthe girly bedroom that Brooks gets to stay in. I'm thinking I should trade with him so that he doesn't have to stand in line for the bathroom. I PROBABLY WILL. Ooops the caps went on. I ddin't mean for that to get emphasized. Well, what a fun week between OLYMPICS AND EVERYTHING ELSE, it has been fun to be in SLC. And we can't wait to meet Brooks.
We sure hope that Brooks is as crazy over the Olympics as we are. Oh no, what if he isn't?

It's funny, I didn't realize that you had done a post while you were down here in Midvale. So I am just looking at it now. Great Pics as usual. By the way you left your glasses. I hope they are not your only pair. Should I send them up with Morgan or just leave them here like Lizzy's so you have a pair here? Had a fun time with you this past week hope to do it again sometime soon.

Thanks for all the pictures of Gabriel with Jonas et al! I've copied them all. He really enjoys being with his cousins. It's good to see you when you down.
