Such Doings!

Today is Friday, and Alan has left for Southern Idaho. He has lots of fields to drill and is very busy. Zack has only one month of school left.

Today after school Zack is going to Rexburg to choose a tux for prom. He will also need to order a wrist corsage for his date. Her dress is a royal blue and so I think he could get a one with hot pick roses, or yellow or even peach. Whatever, I guess he needs to ask her what she would like. Any ideas from you guys on what he could do for a fun date that day?

May 29th is Zack's graduation night. We heard last night that he will recieve the Farm Bureau Scholarship. We're happy that he is graduating. College is another subject. He has been accepted to BYUI for Winter/Summer track (unacceptable) and so we have some things to work out. Anyway the graduation is coming up and we will send out the announcements with pictures. We are excited about that. We know it is a bad weekend for family being able to come - just a few days after Memorial Day , aka my birthday.
News on the another front: I have been called to be our Ward's new Primary President. I haven't been in primary for years - I think 15. So it will be an adjustment. I don't have too many ideas, because I'm so unfamiliar with the programs. I kn0w there are baptisms, achievement days, scouts, faith in God, primary programs; all of which cause me anxiety, but I hope it will be a good calling that I can really come to love and enjoy. I don't know many of the children in our ward, so it will be fun to get to know and love them.

Another position I have been asked to fill: President of the Sariah camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers in Fremont county Idaho. Not as excited about this one. they really took me off guard. I was visited at my house by a bunch of older ladies who all yakkedy yakd about DUP and how I would be a good president because they had all taken a turn and they needed someone young to do it. Young? So I unenthusiastically said ok. Then they said it would be for two years and could I please get a fundraiser going? How do I get myself into these things? I'm such a sucker for old ladies in polyester pants and gray permed hair.
So, that's that!

May promises to be a busy month. Lots of things to do and commitments to keep.

wewont be able to make it to zack's graduation we may be able to come up the weekend before though. So many things to do! If I have a lot of things to do I always wonder if I will EVER be able to accomplish them all. I always do though. Leah and I are hanging out in my classroom my students are in an assembly and then some will come back to make-up a test. TGIF! Leah is really tired and has zonked out on my chest and sweating up a storm. Andrew finished this semester today by taking his anat and phys final. We studied quite a bit so I hope he did well. Well im tired of typing with one hand so I will say goodbye! GOODBYE!

Dear Shelley, Congratulations on the new calling. You will be a wonderful Primary President. All you have to remember is that its all about the kids. You'll do great.
Love, Anne Adele

Boy, it just keeps getting better for you doesn't it. Good Luck with Primary. That ought to be a real change for you. It should prove entertaining. I love hearing what the little kids have to say, especially the little ones.

Congrats to Zack for prom and graduation. I hope his prom goes well.
I like the blog. It looks nice and now I have to figure out how to get music on it. To bad about the spoon. It is always hard at first to loose somthing of personal value at first, but it gets easier as you go. And sometimes with time important things can come back.
Right now my blog isn't much, but i have some cool pictures that I still have to develope.

Boy oh boy! A lot going on in the next month or so! What exactly do you have to do for DUP? I haven't even heard of it. Good luck on the primary calling. I know I couldn't do it--I'm not sure if I would ever have kids if I was put into primary before I started thinking about a family. Good luck on everything, and tell Zach congratulations from us, for graduating and for the scholarship.

As for Zach's Prom date, a few things I can remember doing that I enjoyed are:
-When eating dinner, everyone is given a slip of paper telling them something to do when someone else at the table does a certain thing. For example: Everytime someone uses his/her napkin, I would have to slap the table and recite one of the Ten Commandments. Or everytime someone brings up a certain topic, I would have to sing a Nursery Rhyme, or something like that. If you like this, I can help come up with more ideas.
-I always liked scavenger hunts around town
-Touch football
I am trying to brainstorm, but that's all I've got for now.
